The 24.73 hectare Buttes Chaumont park is the third largest among the 426 gardens in Paris. Napoleon III commissioned Haussmann to create the park, which opened in 1867.
Known throughout the world, Père-Lachaise is the largest cemetery within Paris itself. Numerous famous people are buried here, including Molière, Honoré de Balzac, Jim Morrison, La Fontaine, Simone Signoret, Yves Montand and Henri Salvador.
